Community Involvement

Eric joins new membership

Eric, the 3rd generation family member in leadership at Eifel Mold and Engineering is poised to take over the reins in the future. He is currently employed as a Sales/Project Engineer.

Eric’s interest in the mold making industry was sparked at the age of 8, when he would visit the mold shop his Grandfather Josef Hecker founded in 1973. Throughout the years his father took over Eifel Mold & Engineering and Eric was able to hone his skills in CAD design, CNC programming and operations, benching, spotting and running an injection molding machine. Being in this unique position, Eric was able to gain experience in many facets of the plastic injection mold industry.

Eric is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with a BSME. He began his career in 2016 as a program manager at Flex-N-Gate, located in Warren Michigan. Eric started out in the plastic fascia division, and successfully launched GM’s T1XX program out of their Arlington, Texas operations.

Eric brings a desire to provide input to the Membership Committee and to help answer questions about what the next generation of Mold Making Professional seeks when looking to SPE and the Mold Technologies Division.

In our program with the school, we provide machines and tooling in the classrooms and lead hands-on training sessions for the students. Our goal is to create new opportunities for any student who wants to start a career in manufacturing.
